The art of making musical instruments is as old as mankind. Stringed instruments were used in the earliest of times. There are references to instrument making and to the players that can be found in the early records of almost all cultures. The violin evolved from those first instruments during the Renaissance. It was known for its singing tones.

I carry on that tradition in my making of violins, violas & cellos, having training and work experience on three continents. This knowledge and understanding of  how to produce high tone quality is the foundation of my craftsmanship.

Tone quality can be predicted and tailored to individual client wishes. Much of my unique knowledge has been gained from the extensive restoration of old, valuable instruments made by the great Italian masters. Much of the wood I use comes from the Alps and I personally select the trees. The wood is carefully aged so that it will have the finest tone.

Each instrument is individually made entirely by hand in order to realize the maximum potential of the wood as well as to obtain the best possible sound. My passion is crafting beautiful instruments, but my greatest satisfaction comes from knowing they are appreciated, cherished and played by musicians.

Are you looking for an instrument that has been specially built to produce the sound and playing characteristics you personally desire? If so, please contact me!
